Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery. This is a critical role that requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Assess patients' pain levels and administer appropriate pain management interventions
- Monitor patients for any signs of complications or adverse reactions to anesthesia
- Assist with the safe transfer of patients from the operating room to the PACU
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by physicians
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in medical records
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
-BLS & ACLS Certified preferred
- 1-year PACU or Critical Care experience preferred
- Proficient patient assessment and monitoring
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
